We recently had the opportunity to design what might seem like the most mundane object on the planet—a custom garnish pick. At first glance, this might appear like a small, overlooked detail, but Adrian Artidiello, Director of Operations at Empire Social Lounge in Miami, recognized its potential to make a statement. While many bars would consider this just a practical tool, Adrian saw an opportunity to elevate it and use it as an extension of the bar’s brand.
Rather than simply ordering a batch of generic bamboo picks, Adrian wanted something unique that would reflect the exclusive nature of their cocktails. This prompted us to dive into an in-depth design process that went far beyond the ordinary. We engaged in thorough discussions about the concept, explored various design possibilities, carefully selected materials, and created manufacturing mockups to test the designs.
Now, I know it may sound excessive for something as simple as a custom garnish pick, but I’ve always believed that the most impactful branding statements come from the smallest of details. Check out our blog post on “Designing with Intention” if you haven’t already. The final design of the ESL pick reflects this belief, as it combines functionality with a luxurious feel. Through thoughtful shaping, premium materials, and a creatively cut logo, we’ve created a sophisticated branding piece that complements the upscale experience at Empire Social Lounge. This garnish pick is no longer just a tool; it’s a conversation starter that embodies the brand’s commitment to quality and uniqueness. Visit our shop to see our latest offerings.
The ESL pick design delivers on functionality with fully custom shaping, quality material choice to convey a luxurious feel and a creative cut of the logo for a sophisticated branding statement.
Of note, I’d like to congratulate Adrian and Ashley Sixto, Marketing Director for their commitment to design, style and aesthetics. Their attention to detail and pursuit of excellence has recently been rewarded by their winning of the 2023 BIBBER Cup award.
